KBC Bank Bulgaria and UBB united under the name United Bulgarian Bank (UBB)

On 10th of April 2023, UBB and KBC Bank Bulgaria officially united after the re-organization of KBC Bank Bulgaria EAD, through its merger into United Bulgarian Bank AD, was entered in the Commercial Register. The legal merger is the next step in the integration of the two banks after the Belgian KBC Group acquired the business of Raiffeisen Bank International in Bulgaria in the summer of 2022.

The process of the technical integration of UBB and present KBC Bank Bulgaria is underway. Until its finalization, our branch network, corporate website and the digital channels of the up-to-now KBC Bank Bulgaria will have a special symbol next to UBB logo. At this stage, clients do not need to take any actions and will continue to be serviced as until now. We will inform you about any future changes.

    Guarantee Agreement COSME

    This Guarantee is provided by COSME and the European Fund for Strategic Investment ("EFSI") set up under the Investment Plan for Europe. The purpose of EFSI is to help support financing and implementing productive investments in the European Union and to ensure increased access to financing. The Programme supports Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises with up to 249 employees.

    • Max. EUR 3 000 000 (EUR 1 500 000 for clients performing road freight transport) – for loans with term up to 60 months).
    • Max. EUR 1 500 000 (EUR 750 000 for clients performing road freight transport) – for loans with term up to 117 months.)

    • Investment and working capital loans (with a repayment schedule).
    • Revolving Limits (Including Overdraft Limits, Letter of Bank Guarantees and Letter of Credits).
    • Investment loans - up to 117 months
    • Working capital loans - up to 60 months
    • Revolving loans/overdraft limits - up to 60 months

    The Final Recipients must comply with the requirements of COSME Guarantee Facility and the requirements of the Bank’s Credit Policy.

    Application procedure

    Small and medium Enterprises registered and operating on the territory of Bulgaria which comply with at least one of the following criteria:

    • Is a micro enterprise, a small or a medium-sized enterprise within the meaning of Commission Recommendation 2003/361/EC of 6 May 2003 concerning the definition of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, Official Journal L 124, 20 May 2003, p. 36-41.
    • Are not an "undertaking in difficulty"(within the meaning of Commission Regulation (EU) No C (2014) 651/2014 of 17 June 2014)
    • Are not engaged in activities related to one or more sectors banned under COSME requirements

    Restricted activities - Any production, trade or other activity, which is illegal under the laws or regulations of the Republic of Bulgaria; the production of and trade in tobacco and distilled alcohol beverages and related products; the financing of the production of and trade in weapons and ammunition of any kind or military operations of any kind; human cloning for reproduction purposes and genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or any other restricted activity in the Republic of Bulgaria and/or any of the other EU Member States.

    • Are not delinquent or in default in respect of any other obligations granted by KBC Bank.
