KBC Bank Bulgaria and UBB united under the name United Bulgarian Bank (UBB)

On 10th of April 2023, UBB and KBC Bank Bulgaria officially united after the re-organization of KBC Bank Bulgaria EAD, through its merger into United Bulgarian Bank AD, was entered in the Commercial Register. The legal merger is the next step in the integration of the two banks after the Belgian KBC Group acquired the business of Raiffeisen Bank International in Bulgaria in the summer of 2022.

The process of the technical integration of UBB and present KBC Bank Bulgaria is underway. Until its finalization, our branch network, corporate website and the digital channels of the up-to-now KBC Bank Bulgaria will have a special symbol next to UBB logo. At this stage, clients do not need to take any actions and will continue to be serviced as until now. We will inform you about any future changes.

We would like to invite you to build the next generation of digital services together with us.

    Why to join

We believe that co-creation and innovation enable people, businesses and the society to further develop. Together with us, based on our Open APIs, you can build innovative products and services that can solve problems of millions of customers.

Open APIs will shape the future of banking

The EU regulation PSD2 (Payment Services Directive 2) which requires banks to enable API access to payment account information is considered as a huge opportunity and a starting point of our Open API initiative. Open APIs allow us to meet our customers’ increasing demands for easy customer journeys across industries, thereby discovering new partnerships with Third Party Providers (TPPs) such as FinTechs, startups or external developers.

    How to register

New developer portal for even more convenient access to our Open APIs!

Welcome to the new developer portal - RBI Marketplace, which comes with an improved user interface, even greater security and access to our test and production interfaces in one place!

Registering on the RBI Marketplace is fast and easy. All that is required to test our interfaces is an existing email address to which we can send you an activation link. Thanks to this, creating an account is reduced to a few minutes.

    How it works

After successful registration, you are only a few steps away from testing of the connection with our APIs

    • Create a test application
    • Subscribe to the test APIs for "PSD2 - Sandbox environment" for Bulgaria
    • Download the certificate from the portal
    • Follow the steps for the selected APIs

    Access to Production APIs

After successful testing, you need to create an organization. In order to improve your security and customer security, you need to activate two-factor authentication in the RBI Marketplace using a selected authenticator application.

Once you've completed these steps and started using the service, we'll verify your TPP certificate on the go.

    Access to current portals

    Important announcement

Current developer portals and APIs will not be available after July 31st, 2022. Registration in the RBI Group API Marketplace is required, as well as connection to the new interfaces provided through it.

Please make sure to register and re-subscribe to your favorite APIs to keep your services running. Thank you!

We are happy to announce that we have received the exemption from providing a fallback mechanism from the Bulgarian National Bank. We are very proud of our accomplishments as they demonstrate our commitment to provide to our customers the same level of API services as our own electronic channels.

    Let's innovate together!
